Decomposition behavior of 1-Acyl-LSD in Gas Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry (GC/MS)

We examined the decomposition behavior of 1-acyl-substituted derivatives d-lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD), such as 1-cyclopropanecarbonyl LSD (1cP-LSD), 1-acetyl (ALD-52), and 1-propionyl (1P-LSD) through gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS). It was reported previously that in methanol, 1cP-LSD completely decomposed into during GC/MS. found remained undecomposed GC/MS, extent varied based on analyses performed this study. As a result detailed examination, we deduced occurs at inlet, regardless inlet temperature or type liner. observed peak areas decreased with deterioration liner, considered to be cause for variation between different analyses. While acetonitrile solution provided relatively robust results, other solvents showed significant and/or sequent decrease area time after replacement ALD-52 1P-LSD were stable however, they unstable when methanol used solvent, similar 1cP-LSD. This suggested peaks GC/MS can expected.
